Nokia produces a wide range of devices for all major consumer segments and offers Internet services that enable people to experience everything from music, maps, and media to messaging and games. The company also provides comprehensive digital map information through NAVTEQ, a leading expert in digital map data and related location-based content and services; and equipment, solutions, and services for wireless and fixed communications networks through Nokia Siemens Networks, a joint venture between Nokia and Siemens.
The two Ts
Technopolis provides business environments and services for knowledge-intensive companies and organisations. Its service portfolio ranges from comprehensive business and development services to modern premises. Close to 1,200 companies with 16,000 employees currently operate in Technopolis centres located in Espoo, Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Lappeenranta, Oulu, Tampere, and Vantaa in Finland, and in St. Petersburg in Russia.
Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation is the main government funding and expert organisation for R&D and innovation in Finland. Tekes finances both industrial R&D projects and projects carried out in universities and research institutes. Approximately half of Tekes’ funding is channelled through its various programmes.
