Oxygen and nitrogen on-tap

Based on pressure swing adsorption (PSA) or membrane technology, Laser Gas' compact on-site oxygen and nitrogen generators extract oxygen or nitrogen directly from the air – making them a cost-effective alternative to pressurised cylinder gas in many applications.
Laser Gas oxygen generators have been supplied to peacekeeping forces in the Congo to guarantee operations in local hospitals during crisis situations. Units are easy to transport and are completely self-contained, thanks to their built-in power supply.

Laser Gas’ PSA-based oxygen generators produce up to 99% pure oxygen; while its nitrogen generators, with output capacities of 1-180 m³/l and delivery pressures of 6-700 bar, can achieve a maximum purity of 99.9999%. Gas is also available very quickly, within two minutes after a system has been switched on.

The cost of gas produced by these systems is a fraction of the cost of cylinder gas. Less than a kilowatt of electricity is sufficient to generate a kilo of oxygen or nitrogen.

An even more valuable benefit perhaps, however, is the capability to produce gas on-site, making a facility independent of outside suppliers and eliminating the need to transport hazardous materials from location to location.

Virtually maintenance-free

Laser Gas' PSA units are based on two or more molecular sieves, which adsorb (attract) nitrogen at high pressure and desorb (release) it at low pressure.

Laser Gas generators can be used to fill oxygen, nitrogen, helium, argon, and nitrox gas bottles.

In normal operation, these molecular sieves are subject to practically no wear, and have minimal servicing requirements. The straightforward design and construction of the units guarantee their reliability.

High-output generators supplied by Laser Gas are used in the paper and electronics industries, for example.

A system using VPSA technology installed at a paper mill is capable of generating tonnes of oxygen an hour using less than 0.5 kWh/kg of product.

Analysis services

Laser Gas also provides oxygen hazard analysis services, to assess and mitigate fire hazards when high-pressure oxygen is present in an application. An analysis evaluates potential problems, such as material flammability, ignition sources, system dynamics, operating conditions, valve construction and orientation, and secondary and reaction effects.
